Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com reports that the Lions have signed CB R.J. Stanford to a contract on Tuesday.
Stanford, 27, is a former seventh-round pick of the Carolina Panthers. He spent a little over two years with the team before he was placed on waivers at the start of the 2012 regular season.
Miami later claimed him off of waivers, but the elected to not tender him a contract the following year.
In 2014, Stanford appeared in five games for the Dolphins and recorded 12 tackles, one interception and two pass defenses.
