The Detroit Lions announced that they’ve signed OL Jamil Demby to their practice squad on Thursday and released WR Keon Hatcher from the unit.
The Lions’ practice squad now consists of:
- CB Mike Ford
- WR Chris Lacy
- QB Jake Rudock
- DT John Atkins
- CB CreโVon LeBlanc
- DE Eric Lee
- RB Donnel Pumphrey
- LB Trevor Bates
- C Leo Koloamatangi
- OL Jamil Demby
According to Vincent Bonsignore, the Rams were also in the running to sign Demby, but Detroit’s offensive assistant Brian Picucci was Demby’s college offensive line coach and convinced him to return.
Demby, 22, was taken in the sixth round of this year’s draft by the Rams. The Rams waived him to make room for DT Aaron Donald on their active roster and was quickly claimed by the Lions.
The Lions elected to waive Demby on Tuesday.
During his college career at Maine, Demby was a four-year starter at left tackle and was selected as a first-team FCS All-American as a senior.
