Lions Waive DB Raysean Pringle

The Detroit Lions announced that they’ve placed DB Raysean Pringle on waivers Monday to make room for TE Wes Saxton, who was signed to a contract earlier in the day.

Pringle, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Utah back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Packers elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

The Jaguars added Pringle to their practice squad only to cut him loose a month later. He returned to the Packers and finished out the year in Green Bay.

The Lions signedย Pringle to a contract a few months ago.

During his college career, Pringleย appeared in 33 games at running back and receiver and totaled 1,130 yards and 14 TDs on 228 carries (4.9 avg.) to go along with 36 receptions for 329 yards (9.1 avg.) and a TD. He also contributed 295 kick return yards (19.7 avg.) and a TD.
