Lions Waive RB Paul Perkins, Designate DE Austin Bryant To Return

The Lions announced a series of roster moves on Wednesday, including waiving RB Paul Perkins and designating fourth-round rookie DE Austin Bryant to return from injured reserve.

Detroit also signed CB Michael Jackson to the active roster from the Cowboys’ practice squad and signed OL Casey Tucker to their practice squad.

Bryant has a three-week window to practice with the team before Detroit must make a decision about adding him to the active roster.

Perkins, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Giants back in 2016. The Giants waived Perkins with a non-football injury designation last year and he later reverted to their injured reserve list.

New York elected to cut Perkins loose last month and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Lions. Detroit waived him earlier this year before re-signing him to the practice squad.

In 2017, Perkins appeared in 11 games for the Giants and rushed for 90 yards on 41 carries (2.2 YPC) to go along with eight receptions for 46 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
