Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Lions hosted free agent RB Jeremy Hill for a workout on Friday.
This is the first reported interest in Hill since he suffered a season-ending ACL tear last year while playing for the Patriots.
Back in July, Hill said he was confident about signing on with a team once he’s fully cleared from ACL surgery.
โI think for me coming off a big ACL injury, Iโm just doing what I can to get back to 100 percent,โ Hill said, via Herbie Teope of The Advocate. โI know thereโs going to be a job waiting on me when I get cleared, so thatโs all Iโm doing now.
Hill, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Bengals back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $3,753,602 contract before agreeing to a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Patriots last March.
Unfortunately, Hill suffered a torn ACL in Week 1 that led to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve.
For his career, Hill has rushed for 2,898 yards on 708 carries (4.1 YPC) to go along with 68 receptions for 490 yards receiving and 30 total touchdowns over the course of five seasons and 55 games.
