ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned on NFL Live earlier today that the Jets, Vikings, and Cardinals could all be potential options for free agent-to-be Matt Cassel.
This is purely speculation on the part of Schefter, but all these teams are expected to be targeting help at the quarterback position.
Cassel should be released at some point before March 12th.

Now that a trade has been completed for QB Alex Smith,ย ย it’s all but certain that Cassel will be cut loose.
Cassel, 30, lost his starting job this season after he struggled mightily with turnovers in 2012. He has aย $7.5 million base salary in 2013, which is way too much for a backup quarterback at this point.
Schefter mentioned on this morning’s SportsCenter that there’s a chance that Cassel could make his way to Arizona next season.
Other rumors have suggested that the Patriots could be another option.
