Matt Leinart Will Not Be Cardinal Tomorrow

It appears that  Matt Leinart‘s time in Arizona will come to an end some time today. Adam Schefter tweeted that “One way or another, QB Matt Leinart’s time in Arizona is up. Cardinals plan to trade or release him.”

Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt hasn’t shied away from the situation surrounding the team’s quarterback position and has publicly stated that the team will go with Derek Anderson as their starting quarterback this season.

Yesterday the team allowed Leinart to seek a trade of his own after the Cardinals were unable to find a trade partner for the former USC standout. There has been a whole list of teams rumored to be suitors for Leinart but the Giants, Raiders, and Bills have all denied having interest in acquiring him from Arizona. The Bengals and Seahawks remain a possibilities for him but we’ll find out how serious they really are by the end of the weekend.
