- Dianna Russini reports that the belief inside the Giants organization that they don’t believe Landon Collins‘ pass defense is good enough to pay him big money, which is why they passed on franchising him.
- Ralph Vacchiano of SNY takes a look at seven free agent safeties the Giants could target to replace Landon Collins this offseason including Tyrann Mathieu, Earl Thomas, Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix, Adrian Amos, LaMarcus Joyner, Tre Boston, and Kenny Vaccaro.
Redskins

League sources have told JP Finley of NBC Washington that they believe the Redskins would try to trade up into the top-five picks to select Kyler Murray if the Cardinals don’t draft him at No. 1 overall.

Now according to Ms. Russini, the GMEN Organization feel Collins’ pass defense skills were not good enough to warrant a big pay day. Which is why the Organization did NOT franchise Collins. Collins has 32 career passes defenses in 59 of 64 career games. Not bad for a safety, whose natural position is up at the line of scrimmage. That’s a real poor excuse on the GMEN Organization’s part.
Why not use the transition tag at $9.5M? This is just a lame excuse on Gettleman’s part. Well! Alec Ogletree better be the next to go out the door. Because! Alec Ogle tree’s pass defense straight up SUCKED this year.
Elisha Mannng should have had his bags packed 5 years ago. Yet! Gettleman is fine with Elisha’s $23M cap hit in 2019. How about the $15.5M Vernon is due and Vernon will be on the IR before OTAs are over in 2019, I guarantee it! How many times is JackRabbit going to get burnt in 2019 for $12.4M. How many sacks is Solder going to give up in 2019, Solder gave up 8 in 2018 for $15.4M. What is Kareem Martin’s actual function on the GMEN, another wasted 3 year deal. That’s a rough total of about $80M in useless salary in 2019 alone, give or take a couple of $million.
Watch the tapes Gettleman. Gettleman obviously does NOT practice what he preaches. Because! If Gettleman did, he would have seen that Collins is the only GMEN that brought his lunch pail all 4 years and did his job and then some. Gettleman’s own colleagues on other NFL franchises called Collins walking an unbelievable move.
