NFC East Rumors: Cowboys, Giants, Redskins

  • Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cowboys and franchise DE DeMarcus Lawrence are not close to an agreement on a long-term deal and Dallas’ offer to Lawrence was not considered serious.

  • League sources have told JP Finley of NBC Washington that they believe the Redskins would try to trade up into the top-five picks to select Kyler Murray if the Cardinals don’t draft him at No. 1 overall.
  • Finley mentions that this would likely require a swap of first-round picks along with a Pro Bowl caliber player and likely more compensation later in the draft for Washington to pull off.
  • Finley identifies the Jets at No. 3 overall as the most likely trade partner for team like the Redskins considering a possible trade up.
