NFC Notes: Cowboys, Eagles, Packers

Cowboys

Cowboysย offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said they’re excited about WRย Noah Brown, who they think can be a bit of an “all-around guy” for them.

“(Brown) is a little bit of an all-around guy,” said Linehan, via the Dallas Morning News. “He’s an outside receiver with a big frame (6-2, 222). He’s kind of got a ‘tweener’ size when it comes to receiver. He’s got a little bit of a TE element to his game as far as his size and the matchup and the people he’s blocking. So he should match up well in that area.

“He’s a good receiver, too. He has a real consistence game, and he’s a smart kid, so we’re excited about him.”

Eagles

Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com reports that Eagles LB Jordan Hicks injured his hand on Thursday while on vacation in Greece.

Hicks suffered the hand injury while he was getting out of a pool. As of now, Kempski says that the severity of Hicks’ injury is not known and he’s yet to undergo X-rays, considering that he’s still in Greece.

Hicks sent video of his hand and even performed an array of motions for Eagles doctors. According to Kempski, the belief right now is that Hicks’ injury isn’t overly serious, and even if it’s broken, he could be looking at just a four-week injury.

Packers

New Packers DL Rickyย Jean Francoisย said he was surprised to receive a call from Green Bay during free agency, considering that they rarely sign free agents.

โ€œTo get that phone call that theย Green Bay Packers want youย is rare,โ€ Jean Francois said, via Stu Courtney ofย USA Todayย Wisconsin. โ€œItโ€™s rare that you see them go outside and pick guys up and if they do, itโ€™s for a reason.

โ€œOn the first day of meetings when all the new guys stand up, Iโ€™m used to seeing like five or six guys stand up and there were only three guys to stand up. Iโ€™m blessed to get picked up.โ€™โ€
