NFC South Notes: Falcons, Panthers, Saints

Buccaneers

• The Buccaneers officially ruled out LB Devante Bond (hamstring), CB Jamel Dean (ankle), QB Blaine Gabbert (left shoulder), LB Devin White (knee) for Week 3. 

Falcons

• Falcons HC Dan Quinn announced Friday that P Matt Bosher won’t play on Sunday. (Kelcey Conway)
• The Falcons plan to promote P Matt Wile to their active roster before Sunday’s game. 

Panthers

• On Friday, the Panthers officially ruled out QB Cam Newton (foot) for Week 3’s game. 
• Panthers coach Ron Rivera said of Newton: “He’s actually coming along well, The unfortunate part was last week he was playing on a short week and the foot didn’t have time to come back, as far as I understand it. It was pretty sore. It was just one of those things where we have to wait it out and see where it is. The one thing we don’t want to do is have another setback.’’ (David Newton)
• The Panthers officially ruled out S Rashaan Gaulden (groin), T Brandon Greene (neck), LB Bruce Irvin (hamstring), and QB Cam Newton (foot) for Week 3’s game and list TE Greg Olsen (back) and DE Kawann Short (shoulder) as questionable. 

Saints

• Saints HC Sean Payton said of potential interest in WR Antonio Brown: “Right now where we are…I like our depth at that position. I haven’t paid much attention. I’m focused on the guys here.” (Dianna Russini)
• According to Payton, Saints LB Alex Anzalone is likely out for the season. (Sean Fazende)
• Saints signed DT Taylor Stallworth to their practice squad. (NFLTR)
• Saints released TE Alize Mack from their practice squad.
• The Saints officially ruled out QB Drew Brees (right thumb), DT Sheldon Rankins (achilles), WR Tre’Quan Smith (ankle) for Week 3’s game.
