Denver Broncos president John Elway has announced that the they have re-signed Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey to four-year deal that should keep him in Denver for the remainder of his career. While it had been reported earlier last week that the two parties were negotiating a new deal, it didn’t appear that much had changed.
Despite his age, 33, Bailey continues to perform at high level which is why we had him listed at No. 3 on our “Top 50 Free Agents” list. Denver can now focus on some of their others needs such as defensive end and outside linebacker.
This move will have an immediate impact on the upcoming draft considering that many draft experts had the Broncos taking CB Patrick Peterson out of LSU No. 2 overall. Now it appears that one of Da’Quan Bowers or Nick Fairley have a good chance of ending up in Denver come next season.
