NFL Notes: Adrian Peterson, Buccaneers, Cowboys, Packers

Adrian Peterson

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is reporting that RB Adrian Peterson will plead no contest to one count of misdemeanor reckless assault.

Florio adds that this plea will not include reference to family violence or violence against a minor.

Should the agreement be accepted by Judge Kelly Case, Peterson would be facing a $2,000 fine, probation, and 80 hours of community service.

Buccaneers

• Pat Yasinskas of ESPN writes that RB Doug Martin appears to be the “odd man out” in regards to the Buccaneers’ backfield.

Cowboys

• QB Tony Romo said he feels his back has improved in recent days, but he also added that there’s still some discomfort  he would likely have to play through. (Todd Archer)

• Ian Rapoport confirms that HC Mike McCarthy’s new extension is a three-year contract that will keep him tied to GM Ted Thompson.
