NFL Notes: Mike Holmgren, Broncos, Browns, Raiders, Titans

Mike Holmgren

  • Former Seahawks and Packers HC Mike Holmgren mentioned that he’s received some inquiries about coaching again.

I’ve gotten a couple of inquiries,” Holmgren told Seattle’s KJR-AM on Monday, per Dave Softy Mahler.

Broncos

Browns

  • HC Mike Pettine confirmed that WR Josh Gordon is at a “crossroads” with the Browns.

“It’s not the ability, but at some point you get tired of using the word potential,” said Pettine, via the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “This offseason for him puts him squarely in a crossroads with us.”

Raiders

Interim HC Tony Sparano made it clear that he wants the Raiders head coaching job.

All I want to do right now is be the head coach of the Raiders,” Sparano said, via ESPN.com. “How badly? Very, very badly. This is my team. I left my team today. I’m looking forward to starting over again with them. Those decisions will be made down the road. I only have one concern now and that’s to be head coach of the Oakland Raiders.

“I’m confident. I know the direction this is headed,” Sparano said. “I’ve done this before, not quite like this. I’ve got a lot of work done right here. I want that work to be for me, for this organization.”

Titans

  • Jim Wyatt isn’t buying the rumors that the Titans could have interest in trading for Bears QB Jay Cutler.
