ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted earlier that at least three teams have considered making a run a Philadelphia Eagles QB Kevin Kolb. While Schefter wasn’t able to list the specific teams, he did mention that all of the NFC West teams other than St Louis would have to be considered possibilities.
If this is the case and a new CBA is able to be reached before the draft, the Eagles will have to seriously consider parting with Kolb despite the fact that they appear to be willing to keep him as Michael Vick‘s backup. We discussed yesterday that the Eagles want multiple picks in return for Kolb and some have even suggested that they want two first-round picks in return for him. If Philadelphia is able to get a solid first-round pick along with another second or third-round pick, this deal could get done.
There’s a chance that Kolb could turn into a great quarterback but acquiring a solid package of draft picks would go along way towards filling out their roster with talent for years to come.
