There has been so much talk regarding the Arizona Cardinals quarterback position in recent days that we’ve decided to compile the days rumors into one post.
Tim Ring of 3TV in Phoenix reports the Cardinals and Broncos have had “preliminary contact” in regards to a possible trade for Kyle Orton. Ring mentions that Arizona is more likely to keep Orton as a contingency plan in case they’re unable to land Kevin Kolb.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reiterates that the Cardinals are theย “overwhelming favorites” to trade for Eagles QB Kevin Kolb. Schefter also mentions that the Seahawks are also involoved in trade talks.
One interesting note the Schefter passes along is that teams may actually be allowed to discuss trades during the lockout. This idea was first brought up by Pro Football Talk. It’s a pretty small consolation prize for not having an offseason.
Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic reports that โthe Cardinals arenโt interested,โ in bringing in Donovan McNabb as their next quarterback.
Simple enough. This should help to put an end to the speculation that he could end up in Arizona because he lives there during the offseason. I’m sure his name could pop up again but it appears to a longshot to say the least.
