ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles plan to use the franchise tag on Michael Vick in the coming weeks which will allow them to test the waters in regards to trade Kevin Kolb.
The franchise tag should pay Vick around $14 million for the 2011 season. With Kolb set to make a meager $1.4 million, they could easily afford to keep both of them if they are not enamored by the offers that they receive for him.
The were a number of teams that were interested in Kolb last season which should make him an hotter target considering his salary and the number of teams that are in need of a starting quarterback. Kolb has already come out and stated that he intends to be starting for a team come next season.
