It’s safe to say that the Washington Redskins experiment didn’t turn out all that well for either Donovan McNabb and the team. It’s widely assumed that a divorce is coming which would leave McNabb as a possibly attractive veteran quarterback option for NFL teams.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted a response to a question about who will be playing quarterback for the Vikings next by saying that “Tough one during lockout. Do sense this: Donovan McNabb would like to.”
Many have already made the connection between McNabb and the Vikings but the current labor crisis is inhibiting NFL teams ability to gauge interest and make deals. Washington would most likely love to have McNabb off of their hands and recoup some of the draft picks that they parted with in return for him but obviously that’s not possible as of right now.
There’s also a chance that the McNabb could be released which would allow him to sign on with a team like Vikings but that would require the Redskins to draft a quarterback in the next two weeks. Not a far fetched idea but it’ll be interesting to see what they do in the draft, especially with the No. 10 overall pick.
