According to the Baltimore Sun, Ravens 14-year veteran center Matt Birk is considering retirement. Birk’s decision will have a lot to do with the Ravens chances of winning a Super Bowl in 2011.
“I think that is [a consideration],” Birk said, per the Sun. “It absolutely is. Because at this point in my life, I’m not doing it just to do it. I’m not doing it just to prove to myself that I can do it.”
Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times added that a source close to Birk feels as though he is leaning towards returning next season.
