NFL Rumors: Shonn Greene Jets Starting RB?

Rich Cimini tweets that LaDainian Tomlinson will concede the New York Jets starting RB position to Shonn Greene and will instead focus on being the leagues best 3rd-down running back.

The Jets just drafted RB Bilal Powell and they already have Greene and Joe McKnight on their roster so it should be safe to assume that Tomlinson will see him playing cut significantly next season even if he didn’t concede the job to Greene. The Jets will most likely use him the passing because he’s shown that the he can still be effective out of the backfield. Last year Tomlinson caugth 52 passes for 368 yards giving him a 7.1 YPC average which is on par with his previous seasons.
