Peter King of SI.com cites an anonymous general manager who mentioned Eagles CB Nnamdi Asomugha as one of the more intriguing free agents in this year’s market.
“One guy whose value is way down but still is attractive because so many teams are desperate for corners,” the GM said.
Asomugha, 31, is still under contract with the Eagles, so it’s interesting that a GM would toss him out as a free agent that he would consider in next month.
There’s been plenty of speculation that the Eagles could part ways with Asomugha given that he has a $15 million base salary coming his way this season and another $12 million for the final two years remaining on his contract. If the Eagles decide to keep Asomugha instead of cutting him loose, then there’s a good chance he’ll have to agree to restructure his current deal.
