According to Jane Slater, free-agent OL Jermon Bushrod will sign a one-day contract with the Saints tonight and retire with New Orleans.
Bushrod received some interest from the Panthers back at the start of free agency in March, but has remained unsigned throughout the offseason.
Bushrod, 35, is a former fourth-round pick of the Saints back in 2007. He spent six years in New Orleans before he departed in free agency for a five-year, $35.965 million contract that included $22.465 million guaranteed with the Bears.
Unfortunately, Bushrod lasted just three seasons in Chicago before he was released in 2016. After a few years with the Dolphins, the Saints signed him to a contract for the 2018 season.
For his career, Bushrod played in 145 games and made 82 starts over 12 seasons.
