Packers Claim DB Mike Tyson Off Waivers From Texans, Waive WR Matthew Eaton

Field Yates reports that the Packers have claimed DB Mike Tyson off of waivers from the Texans on Monday.

Rob Demovsky adds that Green Bay waived WR Matthew Eaton to make room for Tyson.

Tyson, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2017. He was waived coming out of the preseason last year before signing on to the Seahawks practice squad and eventually being promoted in December.

The Seahawks, once again, waived Tyson at the start of the 2018 regular season and he elected to sign on to the Texans’ practice squad. Houston promoted him to their active roster in October before cutting him loose last week.

In 2018, Tyson appeared in 10 games for the Texans and recorded five tackles, no interceptions and a pass defense.
