Field Yates reports that the Packers claimed former Bears DT Ego Ferguson off of waivers on Monday.
The Packers continue to be active this offseason in bolstering their defense. This is another move that won’t impact their 2018 compensatory picks.
Ferguson, 25, was taken in the second round ofย the 2014 NFL draft. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $4,113,203 contract and stands to make a base salary of $980,892 for the 2017 season.
Chicago elected to waive him with an injury designation at the start of the season and he was later placed on injured reserve after clearing waivers.
Last week, the Bears officially moved on fromย Ferguson.
In 2015, Ferguson appeared in four games for the Bears and recorded just three tackles before he was placed on injured reserve.
