Update:
Ian Rapoport reports that the Packers have agreed to terms with former Lions RT Rick Wagner on Monday.
- Aaron Wilson reports that Wagner receives a two-year contract worth $11 million. He’ll be paid $2.25 million base salaries in each year to go along with a $1 million roster bonus that’s due next year.
- Wilson says there are also $2.75 million of play-time escalators in the contract and $500,000 of incentives in 2020.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Packers are “in on” free agent OT Rick Wagner, who was recently released by the Lions.
The Packers are expected to move on from Bryan Bulaga this offseason and Wagner could be a decent replacement for Green Bay.
It’s worth mentioning that signing him to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2021 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.
Wagner, 30, is a former fifth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2013. He has played out his four-year, $2,304,560 rookie contract before later agreeing to a five-year, $47.5 million contract that included $17.5 million guaranteed.
Wagner was set to make a base salary of $9 million for the 2020 season when the Lions released him.
In 2019, Wagner appeared in 12 games for the Lions, making 12 starts at right tackle.
We have him included in our Top 100 – 2020 Free Agents list.
