Packers Sign S Jermaine Whitehead

The Green Bay Packers have signed S Jermaine Whitehead to a contract on Wednesday, according to Rob Demovksy.

Whitehead, 24, wound up signing on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn back in May of last year. He was unfortunately among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason before later signing to the 49ers’ practice squad.

The Ravens elected to sign him to their active roster in December of last year and brought him back on a one-year, exclusive rights deal before waiving him last week.

During the preseason, Whitehead recorded three total tackles and no interceptions for the 49ers.
