Dianna Russini reports that the Panthers will host former Lions TEย Eric Ebron for a visit on Friday.
Ebron has been mentioned as a potential option for the Ravens as well.
It’s worth mentioning that signing him to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.
Ebron, 24, was taken with the No. 10 overall pick by the Lions back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $12.249 million rookie contract and made a base salary of $1,590,337 for the 2017 season.
The Lions elected to pick up his fifth-year option last April, which would have cost them around $8,250,000ย for the 2018 season but was guaranteed only for injury. However, the Lions released Ebron in a move that will free up $8.25 millionย of available cap space while creating no dead money.
In 2017, Ebron appeared in all 16 games for the Lions and caught 53 passes for 574 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
