Panthers Re-Sign DE Wes Horton, Waive OT David Foucault

The Carolina Panthers announced that they’ve re-signed DE Wes Horton and placedĀ OT David Foucault on waivers Tuesday.

  • Aaron Wilson reports that the Panthers intent to sign Foucault to their practice squad if he ends up clearing waivers.

Horton, 25, also signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out USC back in 2013. He was in the final year of his three-year, $1.485 million rookie contractĀ when the Panthers cut him earlier in the week to make room forĀ Foucault, who was promoted from their practice squad.

This year, Horton has appeared in three games and recorded two tackles for the Panthers.

Foucault, 26, signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Montreal back in May of last year.Ā He managed to make the team coming out of the preseason last year, but he was unfortunately among the team’s final roster cuts a month ago.

Carolina wound up adding him to their practice squad just a day after he was waived.
