Adam Schefter reports that the Panthers are re-signing veteran S Tre Boston to a three-year, $18 million contract that includes $9.5 million in year one.
Boston finally secures a multi-year commitment from a team after playing one-year contracts the past few years.
Boston, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2014. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2,625,468 contract when the Panthers cut him in 2017.
Boston later caught on with the Chargers shortly after the 2017 draft. He agreed to a one-year contract with the Cardinals for the 2018 season.
Last year, Boston caught on with the Panthers again, signing during training camp on a one-year deal worth $3 million.
In 2019, Boston appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and recorded 68 tackles, three interceptions and 11 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 13 safety out of 86 qualifying players.
