Aaron Wilson is reporting that the Panthers are re-signing WRย Brenton Bersin to a contract now that he’s officially passed through waivers unclaimed.
Bersin, 26, signed on with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Wofford back in 2012. The Panthers brought Bersin back on a one-year, exclusive rights deal last year before he was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the practice squad.
Carolina promoted him to their active roster a few weeks later. However, he was cut loose this past weekend as the Panthers bolster their depth at defensive end.
In 2016, Bersin has been active for one game but has yet to record a statistic.
