The Carolina Panthers announced that they’ve signed DB Devonte Johnson to a contract and placed WR WR Cameron Posey on waivers Wednesday.
Johnson, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Weber State back in May of last year. He was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Falcons’ practice squad.
However, he lasted just a few weeks on the unit before the Falcons cut him loose. He signed on with the Steelers back in February but was recently waived.
During his college career, Johnson recorded 76 tackles and 14 pass defenses over the course of 21 games.
