Losingย Benjamin for any period of time would be a huge setback for the Panthers and their offense. With him being their clear-cut No. 1 receiver, it’s possible they could look around for more receiver help if does in fact end up missing an extended period of time.
Benjamin, 24, is entering the second year of his four-year, $7.66 million rookie contractย that includesย $6.19 million guaranteed. He stands to make base salaries of $768,375 (2015), $1,116,750 (2016), and $1 millionย (2017) over the next three years of the agreement.
In 2014,ย Benjamin appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers and caught 73 passes for 1,008 yards receiving and nine touchdowns.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 85ย cornerback out of 110 qualifying players.
We’ll have more update regardingย Benjamin and his injury as the news is available.
