According to Mike Reiss, the Patriots plan to place WR Gunner Olszewski on injured reserve, which would clear space on the active roster to activate OT Isaiah Wynn.
Wynn is expected to immediately slot in at left tackle and provide a boost to a struggling Patriots offense when he comes off injured reserve.
He would be the second Patriots player to be designated to return from IR. New England placed him on IR a few weeks into the season with a foot injury.
Wynn, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Patriots back in 2018. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $11,577,192 contract that included a $6,499,776 signing bonus.
The Patriots have a fifth-year option to pick up on Wynn in 2021.
In 2019, Wynn has appeared in two games for the Patriots, starting both at left tackle.
