Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Patriots are also bringing in free agent WR Bruce Ellington for a visit on Thursday.
The Patriots are meeting with a group of free agents today including:
- Broncos TE Matt LaCosse (NFLTR)
- Chiefs DL Allen Bailey (NFLTR)
- Redskins WR Maurice Harris (NFLTR)
Ellington, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the 49ers back in 2014. He was in the final year of his four-year, $2.694 million rookie contract when he was waived by San Francisco and claimed by the Jets.
The Texans signed Ellington back in 2017, but he was released from injured reserve with a settlement last year. The Lions later signed him to their active roster before cutting him loose in February.
In 2018, Ellington appeared in seven games for the Texans and Lions and recorded 31 receptions for 224 receiving yards and a touchdown.
