Howard Balzer reports that the Patriots held tryouts on Tuesday for a number of cornerbacks including: Tarell Brown, Bradley Fletcher, Robert McClain and Terence Newman.
- Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported earlier that Newman was scheduled to visit with the Patriots Tuesday.
Fletcher, 28, appeared in 15 games for the Eagles and recorded 60 tackles, an interception returned for a touchdown, one forced fumble, a recovery and 22 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 92 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players.
McClain, 26, appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons and recorded 59 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 90 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players.
Brown, 30, appeared in 14 games for the Raiders in 2014 and recorded 55 tackles and four pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 75 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players.
Newman, 36, recorded 70 tackles, one interception and 14 pass defenses for the Cincinnati. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 56 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players.
