Patriots Brought In QB Ricky Stanzi For A Visit

Mike Reiss of ESPN reports that the Patriots brought in free agent QB Ricky Stanzi for a visit on Wednesday.

Reiss mentions that the Patriots No. 3 quarterback spot is currently open, which explains why they’re taking a look at a quarterback.

Stanzi, 28, is a former fifth-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs back in 2011. He spent two years with the Chiefs before he waived at the start of the 2013 season and later claimed off of waivers by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Stanzi was once again waived at the start of the 2014 regular season, but later signed to the Texans practice squad.

He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
