Kenny Britt
- Jeff Howe reports that free agent WR Kenny Britt, who was released from the Patriots on Wednesday, received an extension offer from New England earlier this offseason.
- Howe adds that Britt is nearing a full recovery from a torn hamstring injury and is expected to sign with a new team “in the near future.”
Jordan Matthews
- According to Michaelย Giardi, it’s possible that the Patriots could consider bringing back WRย Jordan Matthews inย October.
- The Patriots released Matthews with an injury settlement, which prevents them from re-signing him until later on in the year.
Phillip Dorsett
Patriots WR Phillip Dorsett explained that he’s more comfortable in the team’s offense this year and is ready for a larger role.
โI think my comfort level has gotten a lot better,โ Dorsett said, via the ProvidenceJournal.com. โBut you canโt get complacent in this offense. Everything changes. Thereโs a lot thrown at you, and they expect the best from you. So if you donโt bring your best out there, something bad is going to happen.โ
Dorsett added that not having training camp to work with Tom Brady last year made it difficult to get up to speed.
โThat just comes with, I would say, me missing the spring, missing camp,โ Dorsett said. โYouโve just got to know your quarterback and we didnโt really get to build any chemistry during camp because I didnโt have a camp with [Brady]. So I guess thatโs where that came from.โ
