Patriots Placing C James Ferentz On COVID-19 List

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Patriots are placing C James Ferentz on the COVID-19 list Friday.

A Patriots player tested positive earlier in the day, which led to the team shutting down practice. Turns out it was Ferentz.

The expectation is that the game against the Broncos will be played as scheduled on Sunday, but it’s still a situation worth monitoring this weekend.

The COVID-19 list was created this summer for a player who either tests positive for or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons.

Players will remain on the list until they are medically cleared to return.

Ferentz, 31, wound up going undrafted out of Iowa back in 2014. He later signed on with the Texans.

Ferentz spent a few years with the Broncos before joining the Patriots in 2017. Since then, he’s been on and off of their roster.

For his career, Ferentz has been active for 39 games, making three starts.
