The New England Patriots signed OT Chris Barker to their practice squad and waived OT Blaine Clausell to make room for Barker, according to the NFL transactions release.
The Patriots’ practice squad now consists of:
- OT Chris Barker
- TE Joseph Fauria
- DB Chris Greenwood
- DB Brock Vereen
- DT Robert Thomas
- OL Keavon Milton
- OL Torrian Wilson
- FB Joey Iosefa
- TE Asante Cleveland
- LB Darius Fleming
Barker, 25, originally signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Nevada in May of 2013. However, he was unable to make the final 53-man roster and was placed on waivers at the start of the 2013 season.
New England later claimed him off of waivers and he’s been on and off of the team’s practice squad, essentially serving as their 54th player.
This season, Barker has appeared in one game for the Patriots.
