Patriots Release DB Leonard Johnson

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Patriots have released DB Leonard Johnson on Wednesday.

Johnson, 25, signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa State back in 2012. He wound up signing a one-year, $1 million contract with the Buccaneers back in March, but was placed on injured reserve at the start of the regular season.

The Buccaneers waived Johnson from the injured reserve list a few months ago before joining the Patriots.

In 2015, Johnson appeared in four games for the Patriots and recorded 11 tackles and three pass defenses.
