The New England Patriots officially released K Josh Gable from their practice squad on Friday.
Here’s the Patriots updated practice squad:
- LB Terez Hall
- LB Calvin Munson
- DL Nick Thurman
- G Najee Toran
- DB Obi Melifonwu (Injured)
- WR Devin Ross
- WR Quincy Adeboyejo
- DE Tashawn Bower
- DE Eric Lee
- DB Adarius Pickett
Patriots HC Bill Belichick told reporters that the decision to sign Gable to the practice squad was essentially just an extended tryout. However, it amounted to just two days before the team moved on.
Gable, 28, spent minicamp with the Patriots back in 2017 and has a series of Youtube videos showing him making kicks as long as 80 yards. He was previously a professional soccer player overseas and has kicked in various semi-pro football leagues.
Gable worked out with New England earlier this season, but it took until a few days ago for him to sign on with the Patriots.
