Patriots Reward Lawrence Guy & James White, Pay Out 2018 Incentives They Missed Out On

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Patriots did right by DT Lawrence Guy and RB James White and paid them incentive bonuses they just missed out on last year.

Guy walked away with a $400,000 bonus while White got a $250,000 increase from the Patriots.

This isn’t new for New England, as they made similar moves like this last year.

Guy, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Packers back in 2011. He bounced around with a few teams including the Colts and Chargers after brief stints with the Packers before eventually catching on with the Ravens in 2014.

The Patriots signed Guy to a four-year, $13.4 million contract that included $4.9 million guaranteed back in 2017. He stands to make a base salary of $1.9 million in 2019.

In 2018, Guy appeared in all 16 games for the Patriots and recorded 59 tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble.

White, 27, is a former fourth-round pick by the Patriots in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $2,617,088 rookie contract when he agreed to a three-year, $12 million extension with the Patriots back in 2017.

In 2018, White appeared in all 16 games for the Patriots and rushed for 425 yards on 94 carries (4.5 YPC) to go along with 87 receptions for 751 yards receiving and 12 total touchdowns.
