The New England Patriots have signed 10 players to futures contracts on Monday, according to Mike Reiss.
The full list includes:
- K Roberto Aguayo
- QB Jake Dolegala
- DT Bill Murray
- G Ross Reynolds
- K Justin Rohrwasser
- CB D’Angelo Ross
- WR Devin Smith
- DT Nick Thurman
- WR Kristian Wilkerson
- WR Isaiah Zuber
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Aguayo, 26, was selected with the No. 59 overall pick after the Buccaneers traded up to get him in 2016. He was in the second year of his four-year, $4.053 million contract when the Buccaneers elected to cut Aguayo loose in 2017.
The Bears later claimed Aguayo off of waivers but, unfortunately, waived him coming out of the preseason. From there, he had a brief stint with the Panthers before signing on with the Chargers for the 2018 season.
Aguayo also kicked in the XFL before signing on to the Patriots’ practice squad a few weeks ago.
In 2016, Aguayo appeared in all 16 games for the Buccaneers and converted 22 of 31 field goal attempts (71 percent) to go along with 32 of 34 extra point tries and 52 touchbacks.
