Ian Rapoportย of theย Boston Heraldย tweets that Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez returned to the practice field on Thursday for the first time since spraining his MCL in Week 2.
Rapoport speculates that the team held Hernandez and DTs Albert Haynesworth and Mike Wright out of yesterdays practice with the hope that they could participate in today’s padded practice instead. This could mean that Hernandez could be available for the teams upcoming game against the Jets this weekend.
Hernandez has proven to be a very dangerous weapon for New England as he creates several mismatches down the center of the field. The Patriots offense has adjusted to featuring Wes Welker even more but his return will almost certainly open things up for Tom Brady. We’ll have more as the details become available.
