Patriots Work Out Veteran DE Andre Carter

Field Yates of ESPN Boston reports that the New England Patriots brought in veteran DE Andre Carter for a workout on Monday.

Carter, 34, was released by the Raiders a little over a week ago. In 2011, he tallied 10 sacks for the Patriots defense, so he’s at least familiar with their defensive scheme. As of now, New England has Chandler Jones, Rob Ninkovich, Jake Bequette and rookie Michael Buchanan on their roster at the defensive end position.
