ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that multiple sources have informed him that the Oakland Raiders will not be starting their new quarterback Carson Palmer this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Palmer was acquired just a few days ago on Tuesday but despite having played Hue Jackson system in years past, the team likely feels that he’s going to need more time to effective. This leaves Kyle Boller as the teams starting quarterback for Week 7.
This really isn’t all that surprising considering that Palmer has been away from the game for the better part of a year. In the time being Palmer will have the benefit of a bye week to work towards a Week 9 start against the Denver Broncos.
