Raiders Place RB Doug Martin On Injured Reserve

Update:

The Oakland Raiders announced Sunday that they’ve placed RB Doug Martin on injured reserve.

Tom Pelissero reports that the Raiders and Martin are currently working on a settlement for his release.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Raiders are releasing veteran RB Doug Martin on Sunday.

Martin, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2012. He was third in the first year of his five-year, $35.75 million contract when the Buccaneers released him last year.

Martin later signed a one-year contract with the Raiders and returned to Oakland on another one-year deal this offseason.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Martin will free up $1,965,000 of available cap space while creating $55,000 in dead money.

In 2018, Martin appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and rushed for 723 yards on 172 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with 18 receptions for 116 yards receiving and four total touchdowns.
