Raiders Sign DT Ethan Westbrooks, Waive TE Erik Swoope & DL Ronald Ollie

The Oakland Raiders announced Tuesday that they’ve signed DT Ethan Westbrooks to a contract and waived DL Ronald Ollie and TE Erik Swoope.

Westbrooks, 28, wound up signing on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M back in 2014. He played out his rookie contract with the Rams before returning on an original-round tender for the 2017 season.

The Rams would later sign Westbrooks to a one-year, $1.3M contract extension during the 2017 season.

In 2018, Westbrooks appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and recorded eight tackles, one sack and a pass defense.

Swoope, 27, wound up signing on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in May of 2014. He was on and off of the Colts’ practice squad for the early part of his career before he made the 53-man roster last season.

The Colts brought Swoope back on an exclusive rights contracts for the 2017 and 2018 season. He had a brief stint with the Saints last year before returning to the Colts.

The Raiders signed Swoope to a contract this past May.

In 2018, Swoope has appeared in seven games for the Colts and caught eight passes for 87 yards receiving and three touchdowns.
