Raiders Sign S Larry Asante To Active Roster, LB Bojay Filimoeatu To Practice Squad

 

The Oakland Raiders announced the signing of veteran S Larry Asante to the 53-man roster, and the signing of LB Bojay Filimoeatu to the practice squad.

Asante, 26, was with the Raiders during training camp, but was released before the season started.  He has spent time with the Browns, Bucs and Colts in four previous seasons.

It would not be surprising to see Asante log some time in various sub-packages considering that the Raiders have little depth at the safety position.

Asante has appeared in 17 games in his career, registering twelve tackles and one interception.

Filimoeatu was waived by the Raiders earlier this week.  He apparently showed the team enough however, to bring him back to the practice squad.

Filimoeatu appeared in five games with Oakland this year after signing as an undrafted free agent out of Utah State.
