Raiders Sign DB Raysean Pringle, Waive/Injured CB Shaquille Richardson

Damond Talbot of NFL Draft Diamonds reports that the Raiders are signing DB Raysean Pringle to a contract.

The Raiders announced the signing of Pringle and that they’ve waived CB Shaquille Richardson with an injury designation.

Should Richardson clear waivers tomorrow, he would revert to the Raiders’ injured serve list.

Pringle, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Utah back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Packers elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

The Jaguars added Pringle to their practice squad only to cut him loose a month later. He returned to the Packers and finished out the year in Green Bay.

The Lions signed Pringle to a contract this offseason but elected to waive him in June.

During his college career, Pringle appeared in 33 games at running back and receiver and totaled 1,130 yards and 14 TDs on 228 carries (4.9 avg.) to go along with 36 receptions for 329 yards (9.1 avg.) and a TD. He also contributed 295 kick return yards (19.7 avg.) and a TD.

Richardson, 26, was taken in the fifth-round of last year’s draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He lasted just over a year in Pittsburgh before he was cut before the 2015 draft.

Richardson later caught on with the Cardinals and Titans before signing with the Panthers in May of 2016. Unfortunately, he was cut loose a few months later.

The Raiders signed Richardson to a futures contract this past January.

Richardson has yet to appear in an NFL game.
